This week is Trustees week and at ACEVO it’s all about Governance. Trustees are crucial to the governance of any Third Sector organisation. While the CEO is responsible for running the day to day affairs of the organisation, he/she ultimately answers to the board of trustees.
Trustees hold ultimate responsibility for the affairs of a charity, it is their job to ensure the charity to which they belong is fit for purpose, solvent and delivering on its stated aims for the benefit of the public for which it has been set up.
With this in mind ACEVO will be blogging articles to help inform you on some of the issues which affect trustees and how trustees can be better supported to perform in their roles to the best of their ability, raising the standard of governance for the organisation as a whole and ultimately enabling the charity to better deliver it’s mission.
